
Our Schools
The Laurus Trust is a Multi Academy Trust comprising 17 state primary, secondary, and sixth-form schools across Greater Manchester.
Its founder school is Cheadle Hulme High School (CHHS), which Andrew Law attended. It remains the flagship school of the Trust, and is now one of the region’s most oversubscribed schools, judged Outstanding by Ofsted and consistently ranked among the top schools nationally, helping set the high standards for which the Trust is known.
The Trust has grown, bringing together schools such as Gorsey Bank Primary (2016) and Hazel Grove High School (2019), along with new free schools united by a commitment to exceptional outcomes and opportunity for every student.
Cheadle Hulme High School is a highly regarded 11–18 mixed comprehensive, known for outstanding teaching and learning and a strong commitment to ensuring every student succeeds. The school includes a thriving Sixth Form and Teaching School, and has been recognised by Ofsted as Outstanding. Its consistent academic performance reflects a culture of high expectations, ambition, and excellence.

Cheadle Hulme Primary School is a two-form entry school that opened in September 2018, created to meet local needs while providing a strong foundation for future success. Its vision is to ensure every child’s primary school experience prepares them for secondary education and beyond, opening pathways to the future of their choice.

Cheadle Hulme Sixth Form is a dedicated Sixth Form Centre, developed with the support of AL Elevation, and equipped with modern classrooms, laboratories, a refectory, an auditorium, and independent study facilities. The Sixth Form has been awarded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted.

Crown Street Primary School opened in September 2024, initially offering 30 Reception places and 20 Pre-School places. Additional Reception and Pre-School classes have been added each academic year and will continue to be introduced as the school grows towards 230 pupils from Preschool through Year 6.

Didsbury High School is an 11–18 secondary school approved as part of the July 2016 free school programme. It opened in September 2019 to meet a growing demand for school places in Manchester and aims to replicate the outstanding educational provision of Cheadle Hulme High School and Cheadle Hulme Sixth Form. The school is committed to delivering high-quality teaching and a strong foundation for student success.

Didsbury Sixth Form is a newly developed, dedicated Sixth Form Centre with state-of-the-art ICT provision, a Sixth Form refectory, and independent study facilities. Students learn in a welcoming and professional environment and benefit from a wide range of academic qualifications alongside a strong programme of electives and enrichment opportunities.

Gorsey Bank Primary School is a two-form entry primary school in Wilmslow, Cheshire, and joined the Laurus Trust in 2016. The school is known for its reputation for excellence, providing a safe, inspiring, and inquisitive learning environment that is both engaging and nurturing.

Hazel Grove High School is an 11–18 mixed secondary school with a Sixth Form and academy status, located in Hazel Grove, Stockport, Greater Manchester. The school joined the Laurus Trust in summer 2019 and is committed to providing a supportive environment where students are encouraged to achieve strong academic outcomes and develop as confident, well-rounded individuals.

Hazel Grove is a vibrant primary school where mutual respect and strong relationships flourish. The school offers wraparound care through Kids Club, a wide range of after-school clubs, and a brand-new library facility. Guided by core values of Kindness, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility, Hazel Grove provides education in a safe, stimulating environment and maintains strong community links, including partnerships with Hazel Grove Library and Stockport County Football Club.

Laurus Cheadle Hulme is an 11–16 secondary school that opened in September 2018 to 210 Year 7 pupils, helping address a shortage of school places in the local area and providing families with additional choice. Since opening, the school has expanded rapidly, growing its student population fivefold within four to five years. Designed to replicate the outstanding provision of Cheadle Hulme High School, it continues to deliver high-quality education in a supportive learning environment.

Laurus Grace is a new alternative provision school offering a nurturing environment alongside the same high-quality education as other Laurus Trust schools. It provides students with a smaller, supportive setting in which to study an academic GCSE curriculum across a focused range of subjects. Highly skilled staff work closely with students to support engagement with learning, personal development, and the removal of barriers, ensuring every student can achieve their potential.

This 11–18 secondary school was approved through the free school programme and opened in September 2018 to its first Year 7 cohort. The school has expanded steadily to help address a shortfall of secondary school places in Tameside. It is designed to replicate the outstanding provision of Cheadle Hulme High School and Cheadle Hulme Sixth Form, offering high-quality education and strong post-16 pathways.

Laurus Ryecroft Secondary School
Laurus Ryecroft Sixth Form is a newly built school with state-of-the-art facilities, including a 3G football pitch. It offers a wide range of academic qualifications alongside a strong programme of electives and enrichment opportunities, enabling students to follow a bespoke curriculum aligned with both academic and sporting ambitions. One of these electives is the Manchester City Academic Football Pathway.

Norris Bank Primary School joined the Laurus Trust in September 2025, bringing with it a strong reputation for engaging and meaningful learning. The school has been awarded the PTI Primary Hub Mark by the Prince’s Teaching Institute, recognising its commitment to academic excellence. Students benefit from enrichment opportunities and wraparound care through the Branching Out Kids Club, supported by dedicated staff working closely with families to create a kind, caring learning environment rooted in GROW values.

Woodford Primary School opened in September 2022, initially offering 30 Reception places, with an additional Reception class added each academic year as the school grows. By September 2028, it will become a thriving primary school serving 210 pupils from Reception to Year Six, providing a strong foundation for learning and development.
