Andrew Law is the Chairman and CEO of Caxton Associates, a global macro hedge fund founded in New York City in 1983. He attended state school in Manchester before graduating with First Class Honours in Economics from the University of Sheffield. Previously with Goldman Sachs, Andrew joined Caxton’s London office in 2003, became Global Chief Investment Officer in 2008, and was appointed to his current role in January 2012.

Alongside his professional career, Andrew is the founder and Chair of AL Philanthropies and also serves as Chairman of Futures for All.

Philip Moss is an education specialist with the New Schools Network, with extensive expertise in the policy and legislative framework governing schools, academies, and children’s services. He has a strong track record in education commissioning and school transformation, including developing innovative academy proposals and improvement initiatives. Philip now works as an interim manager, project lead, and consultant for a range of education clients.

Philip Mould is an art dealer and historian specialising in British portraiture, as well as a broadcaster and writer, also known for co-hosting the BBC’s “Fake or Fortune?”. He has built an international reputation for major art discoveries, including Gainsborough’s earliest known work, the only portrait of Prince Arthur Tudor, and five lost Van Dycks. Philip also served for twenty years as art adviser to the Palace of Westminster, sourcing around 200 historical and political works.

The Laurus Trust

Linda Magrath is the CEO of the Laurus Trust. She previously served as Head of Cheadle Hulme High School from 2004–2016, drawing on more than two decades of teaching and senior leadership experience across multiple schools and local authorities.
Under Linda’s leadership, CHHS was judged Outstanding in every category in its 2011 and 2015 Ofsted inspections and ranked among the top schools nationally for value-added performance. A National Leader of Education and an Ofsted inspector since 2013, she has extensive expertise in school improvement, teaching and learning, curriculum design, assessment, SEND, and educational finance.

Tony Little
Chair of the
Board of Trustees
Tony Little is Chair of the Board of Trustees and serves as Group Chief Education Officer of GEMS Education, overseeing education quality across its global network of schools. He was previously Head Master of Eton College (2002–2015), having earlier led Oakham School and Chigwell School, and served as a housemaster at Brentwood School.
Tony was educated at Eton College on a music bursary and went on to study English at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, where he was a choral scholar. He later received an MA in English and a PGCE (Distinction) from Homerton College, Cambridge.

Ed Haslam is the Laurus Trust’s Director of Sport, leading the development of high-quality sporting programmes across the Trust. Building on AL Elevation’s investment in state-of-the-art facilities, he has established initiatives including the ELITE Pathway with Loughborough University, the Academic Football Pathway with Manchester City, and a High-Performance Netball programme. A former professional footballer, Ed moved into education in 2010 and holds a First-Class Honours degree, a PGCE with Distinction, and a Master’s in Education. He is currently completing a second Master’s in Sports Directorship.

Heather Brown is the Laurus Trust’s Director of Music and is committed to ensuring young people from all backgrounds have access to high-quality music education. She previously served as Director of Music at Trinity Church of England High School from 2008–2021 and Head of Music at Newall Green High School. A graduate of Lancaster University with a BMus (Hons), Heather began her teaching career at The Barlow RC High School and later served as the lead secondary teacher on the strategic board of MyHub, Manchester Music. She also holds the NPQSL qualification.
